What happens if the ocean conditions are rough?

If the marine forecast is for rough ocean conditions we send emails and WhatApp messages the evening before the tours.

We strongly suggest checking your email or WhatsApp messages the night before your tour.

If the ocean conditions are not good we will do our best to reschedule your trip or if not possible we will cancel your reservation and refund your payment.

We are a small group of Marine Biologists that offer tours to support our Research & Conservation Mission. Last minute cancellations negatively affect our ability to fulfill our mission.

Group Tours

  • We accept cancellations for a full refund with 48 hours notice

Private Tours

  • We accept cancellations for a full refund with 48 hours notice

No shows or late arrivals are treated as cancellations with no notice and no refund will be given.

Yes, we offer several discounts for guests booking multiple group tours.

We offer a 10% discount for the second tour date booking.

We offer a 20% discount for a the third tour date booking.

After making your first booking you can contact us for a discount code for second or third tour date bookings.

There are no additional private tour discounts as the rates are already significantly discounted over booking all the group tour spots.

We do not offer resort transportation to the Chahué marina.

Taxis in Huatulco are a pleasure to use! They have set rates, within Huatulco it is just 50 pesos. If you are coming from Tangolunda it is 100-120 pesos.

Huatulco is a very small area, in most cases the drive to the marina is 5-10 minutes.

There are taxis in front of the resorts and each sector in Huatulco has central taxis stands.

We can call you a taxi after the boat returns.

Yes, we offer small group tours and so we fill up quickly.

Tours often fill up weeks in advance, especially during the Humpback whale watching season, December 1 – March 31.

We recommend making a reservation as soon as you know you want to go with us.

Especially if you have other events planned during your visit to Huatulco.

We suggest planning your tours early in your vacation so if there are rough ocean conditions you have the chance to reschedule and not miss out!

For the safety and comfort of everyone on our boat tours the restrictions include:

  • people who are pregnant
  • anyone with neck or back problems
  • anyone who weighs over 130kg

For guests that want to participate in snorkeling you must be able to swim and climb a boat ladder or you can enjoy the view from the boat.

The minimum age is 3 years old on group boat tours.

All ages are welcome on private tours so we can prioritize adjusting the tour to what suits your little sailors the best!

Nope! Our office is the big blue ocean! We meet guests with tour reservations at the entrance to the dock in the Chahué Marina.

We have an online reservations system where you can complete your booking and get a confirmation. For questions we recommend using WhatsApp as we are often out on the sea.

No one can guarantee anything with nature! But our team is the only group of Naturalists studying the dolphins and whales here, so we have the most sightings in Huatulco, by far!

Throughout the year we see dolphins on over 95% of our tours. During the whale watching season we see Humpbacks on over 90% of our tours.

It is always possible for someone to get seasick, even on our boats. If you suffer from motion sickness then take precautions.

Motion sickness medications must be taken 1 hour before the tour.

We also suggest avoiding too many adult beverages the night before the tour and not eating a heavy, greasy meal before the trip.

The Huatulco National Park fee is 65 pesos cash and must be paid upon arrival at the marina to the Huatulco National Park staff.

If you are going on the Ocean Adventures tour and need to rent snorkeling equipment the fee is 250 pesos cash (mask, snorkel, fins) or 100 pesos cash for just one item (ie. fins).

We provide lifejackets and snorkeling vests at no cost.
